S&J UK are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Officer to join their Purchasing and Quality Team. This is an exciting role offering the successful candidate great levels of variety, challenge and opportunity to drive this area of S&J UK.


Reporting to the Purchasing Manager and based from our Sheffield Site, the Quality Officer will be accountable for testing and inspecting the S&J UK products ensuring they meet product qualification plans and testing standards; furthermore, to ensure Customer satisfaction through the administration and control of product, technical and quality related documentation.


On a day-to-day basis, the successful candidate will complete quality inspection on new and safety critical products; conduct the product returns analysis; and will produce the applicable reporting for quality and testing samples. The job-holder will also perform regular facility and system audits in line with current accreditations, ensuring findings are reported and recommendations are made when required.


In addition, the Quality Officer will be accountable for preparing new product specifications sheets; maintaining and updating current specifications; completing product development / fault finding analysis and investigating customer complaints and quality trends.


The successful candidate will be educated to Degree / HNC level or will have an equivalent strong Mechanical Engineering background; with previous experience working within a fast-paced FMCG or a Retail Quality Department, and a good working knowledge gained from a similar Quality role. Experience working with ISO 9001:2015 is essential.


Candidates will be methodical, thorough and accurate, with the ability to challenge and improve testing regimes. Strong practical skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to problem solve effectively, is essential. Excellent Computer skills, with experience using Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint is required, with SAP experience advantageous.


To be successful in this role, applicants will be quality driven, safety conscious, technically minded, flexible, adaptable and must have an excellent work ethic.


In addition, applicants must be in possession of a valid full UK driving licence and committed to undertaking UK and International travel as required.
