S&J UK are looking to recruit a Purchasing Planner to join their Purchasing Team in Sheffield. This is an exciting role offering the successful candidate great levels of variety, challenge and opportunity within the S&J UK business.

Reporting to the Purchasing & Site Services Manager and based at the Sheffield offices, the Purchasing Planner will be expected to support the overall effective operation of the Purchasing Department supporting both the Department Manager and Purchasing team in their responsibilities and taking accountability for the smooth running of all planning activities.

Day to day, the job-holder will have a varied workload, with duties to include identifying stock-holding issues, monitoring the MRP system and recommending remedial actions; ensuring the administration of the purchase planning processes and systems are running effectively; reviewing supplies and taking the correct action to eliminate non-performing suppliers with the purchasing team; checking inventory control accuracy; and raising purchase requisitions. Furthermore, the job-holder will support the Purchasing team with any additional tasks as and when required.

The successful candidate will have a good level of academic achievement, with experience working in a similar role, gained from within a fast-paced purchasing or relatable environment. In addition, candidates will have a good understanding of supply chain management and current procurement / purchasing techniques.

Applicants must have strong organisational skills; excellent attention to detail; the ability to take a proactive approach to overcome challenges and achieve results, and a proven appreciation of customer service expectations and cost demands of business. We are looking for highly motivated, proactive, positive and hardworking individuals, who are flexible and adaptable with an excellent work ethic.

Furthermore, candidates must have excellent computer literacy with experience using the full Microsoft Office suites; SAP experience is advantageous.
