If the blades of your secateurs, shears or loppers have gone rusty, they can be restored by soaking them in a mixture of vinegar and water overnight (a 50/50 mix).
Rub the rust in a circular motion using steel wool or a crumpled piece of tin foil. When the blades are clean, rinse the tools ensuring all residue has gone. Once dry, some lubricating spray, such as WD-40 will protect the blades.
