S&J UK are looking to recruit a keen and enthusiastic Supply Chain Development Exec to join their Purchasing Team in Sheffield. This would be an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate who is looking for the first step in their career, but would also suit an established individual with previous relatable work-based experience.


Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager, the Supply Chain Development Exec will be responsible for providing a wide-range of purchasing and administrative support to assist with the smooth running of the Purchasing Department. 


Day-to-day the successful candidate will be accountable for numerous purchasing and administrative tasks including raising purchase requisitions and purchase orders; monitoring and maintaining planning requirements for the stock replenishment system; recording and processing stock movements, and supporting and assisting with other general administration duties within the department. In addition, the successful candidate may also have the opportunity to travel alongside the Purchasing Manager to visit key suppliers in the Far East, in order to support with supply chain audits and pricing discussions. 


The successful candidate will have a good level of academic achievement, ideally to degree level or equivalent; some previous experience in a fast-paced retail or customer services environment is advantageous but not necessary; similarly, an understanding of company purchasing processes would be beneficial.


Applicants must be comfortable communicating and interacting successfully with individuals at all levels and will have first-class customer services skills; excellent project / time management and organisation skills; alongside strong IT competence, with experience using the full Microsoft Office Suite essential.


We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated, enthusiastic and self-confident, with a professional approach to work; able to demonstrate high attention to detail with excellent levels of accuracy and with the ability to adapt and work flexibly to meet the demands of the business.


Applicants must be committed to undertaking UK and International travel as and when required; ideally in possession of a full valid UK driving licence, and comfortable with overnight stays away from home.
